CFB Co founder’s Terry Melvin (“Lunch Money Lures”), Steve Eisenmenger ( “Big Pappa”) and Ken Neeley (“KD Outdoors”) Won the support of Michigan local tournament anglers in 2011.

Starting the tournament Series out in 2011 with the core foundation of a 90% pay back series to reward the tournament anglers, products and services from local sponsors and a host of volunteers stepping up to give a hand. Has set the foundation for CFB to continue in 2012 with opportunity for more tournament anglers to participate in the CFB 2012 classic tournament that will be held on Sept 07 2012.

New for 2012 CFB tournaments will be offering a saturday and sunday lake st.clair five qualifying tournament series. This will open the opportunity for tournament anglers that have obligation on Saturdays can fish the Sunday Series to qualify for the CFB Classic. This also opens the opportunity for tournament anglers wanting to fish more quality tournament can fish both Series.

Participation and commitment of fishing four (4) out of five (5) of a Saturday or Sunday tournament series is all that is required to qualify entry in the CFB classic. Again, you must fish 4 out 5 tournament in the same series to qualify. You can not combine Saturday and Sunday tournaments. Another change in 2012 a sub angler will be allowed in regular qualifying events. It was not clear how a sub angler rules will apply a set of rules have not been finalized or posted. CFB has a website, to my understanding will be up graded with all of the tournament rules and tournament information soon. visit: www.cashforbasstour.com

My passion for fishing bass tournaments has been rewarding in many ways over the years. On July 23, 2011 was the most rewarding tournament I’ve fished in my Bass fishing career. Recently one of my grandsons 14 year old Zac Machiele interest in fishing and hunting in general…. His passion for bass fishing inspired me to invite him to fish a Bass tournament with me this summer. I’ve been a strong supporter to taking advanage at any opportunity to introduce a youth to the great-outdoors. No matter if it is fishing or hunting.

The moment I asked Zac if he was interested in fishing a tournament with me this summer. He exploded in excitement. Zac’s excitement was over welming to say the least. My mind went instantly into overdrive of the Memories of my late grandfather Vic Melgin that was a avid lake Erie fisherman. To this day, more than 50 years later. I still treasure the excitement and memories of the countless fishing trips on lake Erie fishing for yellow perch and walleyes with my grandfather. Grandma played a big roll in memories of the best deep fried fish dinners. Plus providing enough sandwiches and snacks for long day of fishing.

Without a doubt in my mind, my fishing experiences with my grandfather Melgin taking the time to take me fishing. Set the foundation for me to becoming the avid bass tournament fisherman that I am today.

Zac’s passion in general at he’s age in fishing and hunting is inspiring, to any father or grandfather desire to pass on our heritage in fishing and hunting that we love and enjoy .

On July 23th 2o11, the all new CFB tournament series( Cash For Bass) was scheduled to host there 2nd tournament on Lake St. Clair. My Friend & fishing partner Tom Trombly had other commitments on this date. ”Sorry about your luck Tom” You missed some good fishin! This did open the opportunity to honor my promose to my grandson Zac to fish a tournament with his grandfather. After checking with tournament director from CFB. Zac would be eligible to fish the tournament as long as he followed the junior members rules.

For me, the hours spent pre-fishing with Zac will be treasured for a life time. Even with record high temperatures in the high 90′s and heat index ranging over 110 degrees at times. We were blessed with alot of bass action.

On tournament day As a team, We manage to put together 5 bass limit@ a respectable 17.01 lb. sack of smallmouths. We didn’t collect any trophies or prize money in this tournament….. But We collected the highest reward any grandfather or father could ever ad chief, A mind full of memories to last a life time. In my book, We both became Winners that day!

To all the fathers, grandfathers, You want to become a winner? take time out … Take a kid fishing! I gaurentee you will become winners of memories that will last a life time.

Good Fishin!

Safety Pin type spinnerbait was invented sometime around 1925. The Safety Pin spinnerbait has become one of the most go-to lure of all times.

Original Safety Pin spinnerbait has been known to fall prey to a variety of species of fish through out the world. Traditionally, Safety Pin spinnerbaits have been classified as a excellent lure for catching bass.

The original basic Safety Pin type spinnerbait has held it’s own in history as a versatile artificial lure. Spinnerbaits have been adopted by novice bass anglers as well as top professional bass fisherman. Why? Simple my friends!… “they produce”. Spinnerbaits have been proven to be one of the simplest lures an angler can use, that will cover all types of habitat from the surface to the bottom of any water depth column you anticipate bass will be holding.

History of the Safety Pin type spinnerbait has never seen any major new innovative changes in the past 85 years. There are a couple manufactures that have made some changes such as; double arm, triple arm and jointed head spinnerbaits. I classify most as cosmetic or quality improvement changes

.

Facts still remains, all changes are spin-off’s of the original basic Safety Pin spinnerbait design. Some changes made today are more targeted to attract fishermen.

As an avid tournament bass fisherman myself and a manufacturer of “Blade Spinnerbaits”, I believe that in order for any lure on the market today to succeed, you have to attract fisherman’s attention and boost their confidence their product.

I can not imagine a bass angler in the country that doesn’t use some type of spinnerbait at one time or another. If someone isn’t using some type of spinnerbait, you’re missing out on some awesome bass fishing.

With video, live TV technology, and major sponsor support… Fishing Tournaments have become more popular as a spectator sport. Tournament anglers have contributed to the demand for spinnerbaits in rescent years. Pro anglers know how effective common Safety Pin spinnerbait can be at any given time. There is a long list of tournament anglers; past, present and, no doubt in the future, who have or will cash in on tournament winnings with the aide of spinnerbaits in their tackle box.

Knowledge of modern technology has provided lure manufactures with endless materials to choose from to build lures. Fishermen and modern manufactures have adapted a long list of creations in a variety of ways to improve Safety Pin type spinnerbait performance, quality, and appearance; simply by changing blades or creating custom blades; skirt materials, or colors; head weights, or custom head design; or by adding trailers will without a doubt, effect the sound, actions, or appearance of a basic spinnerbait.

Good quality spinnerbaits can be used in countless numbers of ways. Your imagination is your guide. With the right combination of blades, colors, size, and presentation you can cover just about any condition and pattern a bass angler will encounter.

BALL-BEARING SWIVEL
Genuine ball-bearing swivels do cost more. But, they are worth it.

SNAP SWIVEL REAR BLADE DESIGN
The snap swivel makes The Blade more versatile. In seconds you can change the rear blade to a different size or different color blade to give the Bass a different look that could create more strikes.

WOBBLE WIRE
The right gage wire for the right wobble and vibration. Open R bend to prevent line nicks.

FLAT BOTTOM HEAD DESIGN
Makes it more weedless and creates a slight lifelike wobble that draws Bass closer.

16 COLOR COMBINATIONS

All are proven Bass-catching color combinations.

THREE DIFFERENT SIZES
THE BLADE (3/8 ounce)
THE BIG BLADE (1/2 ounce)*
THE BITTY BLADE (1/4 ounce)*

INDIANA BLADES
Dual oval-shaped blades create the right rotation and sound to maximize strikes during all retrieval speeds.

GAMAKATSU HOOKS
The better the hook…the more Bass you will catch. It’s that simple.

LIVING RUBBER SKIRT
In the water, you can see the difference from those synthetic skirts….and so can the Bass.
